Did You Know?

• First Aid Regulation 1101 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act outlines the first aid obligations that employers are required to provide for employees with respect to training, equipment and facilities.

• For companies with 1 to 5 employees, the requirements include: a first aid box (St. John Ambulance Workplace #1 Kit), a current edition of a St. John Ambulance First on the Scene Manual, and a worker with current Emergency First Aid certificate who is in charge of the first aid box at all times that work is in operation.

• For companies with 6 to 15 employees, the requirements include: a first aid box (St. John Ambulance Workplace #2 Kit), a current edition of a St. John Ambulance First on the Scene Manual, and a worker with current Standard First Aid Certificate who is in charge of the first aid box at all times that work is in operation. 

• For companies with 16 to one 199 employees the requirements include: a first aid box (St. John Ambulance Workplace #3 Kit), a current edition of a St. John Ambulance First on the Scene Manual, and a worker with current Standard First Aid Certificate who is in charge of the first aid box at all times that work is in operation.

 Emergency First Aid Level "A" CPR + AED

Emergency First Aid Level "C" CPR + AED

This an ideal course for new parents, Babysitters, Nannies and Day care providers or anyone who cares for infants and children.  Basic First Aid principles, Choking and CPR techniques are taught using infant and child manikins.

 HCP CPR + AED

CPR for Health Care Providers (HCP) is a new course specifically designed for the current and future Health Care and Emergency Care Professional or Emergency Service Provider.  Topics covered include cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies, adult, child and infant CPR skills, two rescuer CPR and AED, use of the bag valve mask, rescue breathing and jaw thrust, anatomy and physiology and infection control.  A national recognized certificate valid for one year is issued upon successful completion of the course requirements.  Recognized as a pre-requisite for post-secondary health and emergency service training programs.
